Builders FirstSource, Inc. is a supplier and manufacturer of structural and related building products for residential new construction. It operates principally in the southern and eastern U.S. and has distribution centers and manufacturing facilities. The company also distributes windows, interior and exterior doors, dimensional lumber and lumber sheet goods, millwork and other building products. Its products are classified into five product categories: Prefabricated components, Windows and Doors, Lumber and Lumber Sheet Goods, Millwork and Other Building Products and Services. The Prefabricated components consist of wood floor and roof trusses, wall panels, stairs, and engineered wood. The Windows and Doors category is comprised of the manufacturing, assembly, and distribution of windows and the assembly and distribution of interior and exterior door units. The Lumber and Lumber Sheet Goods include dimensional lumber, plywood, and OSB products used in on-site house framing. The Millwork includes interior trim, exterior trim, columns and posts that it distributes, as well as custom exterior features that it manufactures under the Synboard brand name. The company was founded by Kevin P. O'Meara and Donald F. McAleenan in 1998 and is headquartered in Dallas, TX.
