The company operates its business through four segments: Americas Management & Franchising, Southeast Asia, as well as China, Australia, South Korea & Japan (ASPAC) Management & Franchising, Europe, Africa, the Middle East & Southwest Asia (EAME/SW) Management and Owned and Leased Hotels. The Americas Management & Franchising segment is a combination of hotel management and licensing its brands to franchisees located in the U.S., Latin America, Canada and the Caribbean. The ASPAC Management segment is a combination of hotel management and licensing its brands to franchisees located in Southeast Asia, as well as China, Australia, South Korea and Japan. The EAME/SW Asia Management segment includes hotel management of its brands located primarily in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and India, as well as countries along the Persian Gulf, the Arabian Sea, and Nepal. The Owned and Leased Hotels segment primarily derived from hotel operations. Hyatt Hotels was founded by Jay Pritzker in1957 and is headquartered in Chicago, IL.
