Powell Industries, Inc. develops, designs, manufactures and services custom engineered-to-order equipment and systems for the management and control of electrical energy and other critical processes. The company operates its business through two segments: Electrical Power Products and Process Control Systems. The Electrical Power Products segment designs, develops, manufactures and markets custom engineered-to-order electrical power distribution and control systems designed: to distribute, monitor and control the flow of electrical energy; and to provide protection to motors, transformers and other electrically-powered equipment. The principal products in this segment include power control room substation packages, traditional and arc-resistant distribution switchgear, medium-voltage circuit breakers, offshore generator and control modules, monitoring and control communications systems, motor control centers and bus duct systems. The Process Control Systems segment designs and delivers custom engineered-to-order technology solutions that help its customers manage their critical transportation, environmental and energy management processes and facilities. Powell Industries was founded by William E. Powell in 1947 and is headquartered in Houston, TX.
