Stifel Financial Corp. is a financial services holding company whose subsidiaries serve a client base consisting of individual investors, professional money managers, institutional firms, and municipalities through the following segments: Global Wealth Management, Institutional Group, and Other. The Global Wealth Management segment consists of the Private Client Group and Stifel Bank & Trust. Through a network of more than 2,000 financial advisors located throughout the U.S., the Private Client Group offers equity securities, taxable and tax-exempt fixed income securities, preferred stock, and unit investment trusts, as well as a broad range of externally managed fee-based products, and insurance and annuity products. Stifel Bank provides retail and commercial banking services to private and corporate clients. Stifel Trust provides a wide range of trust, investment, agency, and custodial services. The Institutional Group segment provides independent research, institutional equity and fixed income sales and trading, and investment banking, including equity and fixed income capital markets, advisory and restructuring services. The Other segment includes various corporate activities and all unallocated overhead costs. Stifel Financial was organized in July 1983 and is the successor to a partnership founded in 1890. The company is headquartered in St. Louis, MO.
