It is also a maker of lenses used worldwide in corrective or refractive surgery, and also makes lenses for use in surgery that treats cataracts. The company's principal products include Minimally Invasive Intraocular Lenses and Implantable Collamer Lenses. The intraocular lenses are prosthetic intraocular lenses used to restore vision that has been adversely affected by cataracts, and include the company's lines of silicone and Collamer IOLs and the Preloaded Injector. The company's implantable collamer lenses consists of Visian ICL and TICL, which are intraocular lenses used to correct refractive conditions, such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. STAAR Surgical was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in Monrovia, CA.
