SunCoke Energy, Inc. engages in producing metallurgical coke in the Americas. Metallurgical coke is a principal raw material in the integrated steelmaking process. It owns and operates metallurgical coke making facilities in the United States and Brazil. The company operates its business into five segments: Domestic Coke, Brazil Coke, India Coke, Coal Logistics and Coal Mining. The Domestic Coke segment consists of its jewell, indiana harbor, haverhill, granite city and middle town coke making and heat recovery operations located in Vansant, Virginia; East Chicago, Indiana; Franklin Furnace, Ohio; Granite City, Illinois; and Middletown, Ohio. The Brazil Coke segment consists of operations in Vitoria, Brazil, where it operates a coke making facility for a Brazilian subsidiary of ArcelorMittal. The India Coke segment consists of coke making joint venture with Visa Steel in Odisha, India. The Coal Logistics segment consists of its coal handling and blending service operations in East Chicago, Indiana; Ceredo, West Virginia; Belle, West Virginia; and Catlettsburg, Kentucky. The Coal Mining segment consists of metallurgical coal mining activities conducted in Virginia and West Virginia. The company's business routes back to 1960. SunCoke was founded in December 2010 and is headquartered in Lisle, IL.
