It operates through the following segments: Gas Distribution, Fuel Distribution, Chemicals, Storage and Drugstores. The Gas Distribution segment, through Ultragaz, distributes LPG to residential, commercial, and industrial consumers in the South, Southeast, and Northeast regions of Brazil. The Fuel Distribution segment, through Ipiranga, operates the distribution and marketing of gasoline, ethanol, diesel, fuel oil, kerosene, natural gas for vehicles and lubricants and related activities throughout all the Brazilian territory. The Chemicals segment, through Oxiteno, produces ethylene oxide and its main derivatives and fatty alcohols, which are the raw materials for the home and personal care, agrochemical, paints, varnishes, and other industries. The storage segment operates liquid bulk terminals, especially in the Southeast, and Northeast regions of Brazil. The Drugstores segment trades pharmaceutical, hygiene, and beauty products through its own drugstore chain in the states of Pará, Amapá, Maranhão, Piauí, Ceará, and Rio Grande do Norte. The company was founded on December 20, 1953 and is headquartered in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
