Vicor Corp. designs, develops, manufactures and markets modular power components and complete power systems based upon a portfolio of patented technologies. It also manufactures and sells complete configurable power systems, accessory products and custom power solutions. The company has organized its business segments according to its key product lines: Brick Business Unit, V*I Chip Business Unit and Picor Business Unit. The Brick Business Unit designs, develops, manufactures and markets modular power converters. This segment also designs, develops, manufactures and markets a line of configurable products, which are complete power supplies assembled using modular power components. The V*I Chip Business Unit consists of V*I Chip Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary that designs, develops, manufactures and markets a range of advanced power conversion components, including those that enable its Factorized Power Architecture. The Picor Business Unit consists of Picor Corp., a majority-owned subsidiary that designs, develops, and markets high performance integrated circuits and related products for use in a variety of power system applications. Vicor was founded by Patrizio Vinciarelli in 1981 and is headquartered in Andover, MA.
